Bamboo is being used for many different reasons, let’s explore some of these uses and see how bamboo is revolutionising the world!
Here at Bubblebrush we love bamboo, as you’ll see from this post it is a versatile plant that is being used for many, many different purposes. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but just highlights some of the innovative uses of bamboo.

Construction, the wise man built his house upon the bamboo?
UNESCO estimates that over 1 billion people live in Bamboo houses. Bamboo helps to save forests from destruction and is a good substitute for timber. As you can see from the image above bamboo doesn’t limit the creativity of a building, it is a cheaper resource that affords the same benefits as a “normal” building.

Furniture, nature’s seat
Bamboo is unique, stylish and affordable, as such it is being used to make all types of house fittings . Everything from chairs, sofa, drawers and many other pieces of furniture are being made from bamboo. Interestingly, research shows that plants and the outdoors are good for our mental health and well-being so incorporating bamboo inside our homes could actually have some positive mental health benefits.

Roads and Bridges: the paths bamboo builds
When we think of roads and bridges, pictures of concrete and steel beams come to mind. What probably doesn’t come to mind is bamboo. However, around the world bamboo is being used exactly for these purposes. Bamboo is a lot stronger than it looks, and in places such as China, these bamboo roads and bridges support trucks and cars. Bamboo bridges are safe and easy to build, they save a lot of time and are inexpensive when compared to “normal” bridges and roads.

And of course, our favourite, toothbrushes!
Bamboo ensures our toothbrushes are eco-friendly, strong and helps put more oxygen into our air!
As you can see, there are so many uses for bamboo, we’ve simply selected a couple of our favourites. It’s so clear to see how bamboo will help to build a better tomorrow!
